Point and click your financial plan

You've organized the contents of that bulging shoebox and tracked down the stray receipts lurking in jacket pockets. Now you're ready to point and click your way to what you hope will be a generous tax refund.

But while your records are still organized and your computer's still on, why not look beyond that refund to your financial future?

Using do-it-yourself online financial tools, planning ahead is easier and more convenient than you may think.

"The purpose of creating a financial plan is to define what you hope to achieve in terms of financial success," says Peter J. Rossi, director of financial planning for NetBank. "If you take the time to write down what you want to achieve, you're much more likely to achieve it."

For NetBank customers, it's as easy as clicking on your mouse.

The bank's online interactive planning tools include an Express Planner that provides an overview of the customer's current finances; plans for specific goals, like retirement, education and insurance; and a Comprehensive Planner that integrates all the others for setting multiple goals.

In addition, the bank offers access to brokerage services and other investment and insurance products.

Dedicated financial advisers are available to help analyze the plan, answer any questions and help put the plan into action.

Financial planning isn't just for people with excess wealth. Financial planners recommend that everyone have a plan in place for their financial future.

The experts at NetBank recommend taking control of spending by tracking expenses over two to three months. After you get a clear idea of your expenses, develop a plan to spend less and save more.

For instance, you could consolidate your high-interest debt by refinancing your home or getting a home equity credit line.

They also suggest reviewing the asset allocation in your investment portfolio to confirm that it's in alignment with your goals. And make sure your insurance coverage is enough for your financial position.

Seo - what is longtailing

A definition of longtailing (a form of search engine optimization) and how it is used as an SEO strategy for enhancing product pages and catalogue pages.

Longtailing is a form of search engine optimization that is also called catalogue SEO. The reason it earned this nickname is because of the long metatags that are attached to every image, product description and product number on a merchant’s website. There is also an emphasis on making sure that every photo has a keyword-optimized caption and properly structured labeling. The idea is that if each product is meticulously labeled and properly described it will appeal to the search engine spiders simply because the information is so targeted and accurate.

This form of SEO is so obvious and simple that people simply don’t even think of utilizing it. The only situation in which you may not be able to deploy it as an effective search engine optimization strategy is if for some reason your website doesn’t allow it. Bravenet. com is a cheaper website that is a good example of a host that does not comfortably allow metatags.

If you have a catalogue style site that does not seem to be turning over any business it might be well worth your while to look into attaching your own metatags or have a professional SEO expert do it for you. However the HTML for these types of metatags is fairly basic and many people can learn how to do it on their own. There are all kinds of sites on the internet that teach the basic HTML formula for attaching keyword optimized html code to pictures, titles, graphics, links and text.

If optimizing each and every title and description on your site seems tedious and time consuming, well it is. But the plain fact is that bothering to do this can greatly boost your presence in the search engine page rankings. Why let learning a little bit of HTML code stand between you and making generous profits with your website? It seems ridiculous to do so but many people just let that happen because they fear working with HTML.

Keep everything coming up roses

A great way to experience exquisite roses is to attend the annual Rose Parade® in Pasadena, Calif. The Bayer Advanced Jack and the Rose Stalk float, the very first float in the 2006 Rose Parade®, featured the four All-America Rose Selections: Julia Child, Rainbow Sorbet, Tahitian Sunset and Wild Blue Yonder.

Bayer Advanced™ garden expert Lance Walheim, who wrote the best-selling book "Roses for Dummies," says, "Roses are easier to grow now than ever before if you follow a few basic guidelines":

• Rose plants are graded according to standards set by the American Nursery & Landscape Association. A #1 rose is the highest quality and will give you the best show the first summer. You'll find the grades on the rose packaging.

• Avoid roses with dry-looking, shriveled canes.

• Soak roots overnight before planting. If you can't plant immediately, keep packing moist around the roots until planting time.

• Roses need at least six hours of direct sunlight per day to thrive.

• Fill hole with water, let it drain and then fill again. If the hole hasn't drained completely in 24 hours, the easiest solutions are to plant elsewhere or grow roses in pots or raised beds.

• Mix the soil dug out of the hole with equal amounts of compost or ground bark. Place some of the mixture in the bottom of the hole, creating a cone-shaped mound.

• Examine the rose carefully. Prune off damaged or dead roots. Spread the roots of the rose-the rose should be planted at about the same level it was grown in the field (you'll see a color change on the stem) and with the bud union (the swollen part of the stem) aboveground. In colder climates, plant several inches deeper so the bud union is covered with soil.

• Fill with soil and create a watering basin around the plant. Water well.

• Mulch the rose with compost or ground bark. Pile the mulch up high enough to cover the canes several inches above the bud union.

• Fertilize and protect from insects and diseases. Bayer Advanced™ All-in-One Rose and Flower Care not only fertilizes, it protects against pests like aphids and Japanese beetles and diseases such as powdery mildew and black spot, all in one easy step. One application protects for up to six weeks-systemically working its way up through the plant from the roots.

How to be safe while traveling single

If you want to meet new people, find a mate, increase your awareness, experience personal growth, lower your blood pressure or just relax. TRAVEL!

You can try an all-inclusive resort that will give you the safety of communal living, yet flexible enough to provide you with a detail experience of your chosen destination. You can increase your experience encounters by signing up for tours offered by your resort. These mega resorts offer tours for shopping, sightseeing, night life, educational and adventure.

If you would rather travel to 2, 3 or more cities then a cruise may be your best choice. There are single cruises that are high end, (meaning they won't make you feel like you are on the prowl)!

Safety is a serious issue and should not be taken lightly. Listed below are 15 tips to increase your safety factor:

1. When you check into your hotel, give your Bellman a $5.00 to $10.00 tip. Tell him your name and ask him a question about your stay at the resort, Keep this conversation, brief and professional

2. Use the Hotel safe for money, your travel documents and jewelry. If you use your room safe, be sure you know how to operate the safe properly.

3. Always try to originate your cab ride from your hotel. When away from your hotel try to avoid asking strangers for directions. If you get lost or need help, go to the nearest Hotel (the larger the better) and ask for help at the Front desk!

4. Select your 'return trip cab' with caution and always be aware of your surroundings

5. Invest in a body purse or use a money belt.

6. Do not flash cash, foreign or domestic. If you are not sure of the money exchange, it is OK to leave a little extra money on the table.

7. When meeting people during your travel, do not give out your hotel room number. Meet people in the lobby or have the Hotel operator connect them to your room.

8. If you decide to go out with a suitor that you meet while traveling, have him/her pick you up at your Hotel. Find your Bellman, and casually mention that you are going out with one of the locals and ask a question about where to go? (The Hotel does not want anything to happen to you, because then who would pay the bill?)

9. ALWAYS remember to BE SAFE in personal or sexual encounters. Don't get caught up in the moment! At least not in a foreign country.

11. Remember, if you are an American, you could be a target! OR, they may want to marry you so they can move to the US. (Note: In Egypt men are legally allowed to have three wives)

12. Wait until the last day before your departure before giving out your home address or telephone number. (You would not want this information forwarded to a professional thief while you are away on vacation)

13. Try not to break anyone's heart.

14. If you get into trouble, contact the nearest US Embassy.

15. Leave a detailed itinerary with a friend or relative at home. Check in with this family member or friend often during your vacation

The heart-warming gratitude

Thank you very much. I am obliged. Gratitude, a quality that is a must to live a good life. Gratitude, a quality that makes both the giver and the receiver happy. Somebody helped me and I forgot about it. Somebody helped me and I remembered it and said thanks. What is better? Many of us forget to thank. We take everything for granted. We take help as our right.

How many of us express gratitude towards earth for allowing us to live on it? How many of us express gratitude towards sun for giving us its light and life to us? How many of us express gratitude to water for quenching our thirst? How many of us say thanks to flowers for making us happy? All of us take these for granted. We don't express gratitude to our own body to survive in this world. Gratitude has a great quality. It makes one who expresses gratitude feel very good. Try it and you will find your heart filling with warmth.

Husband takes wife for granted and vice versa. People are forgetting the art of saying thank you. Why not make other person feel good? By receiving a thanks, the recipient feels worthy. I am a good person. I did something good, so I am getting this Thanks. Why should we miss even the smallest opportunity to express thanks? It costs us nothing. But it is invaluable for one who gets it. Even the smallest gesture made by any body deserves our gratitude. A cab driver, a flower seller, a guard, an attendant, a waiter, everyone who does anything for us, should be told - Thank you very much.

Life is tough for all of us. There is no charm left for many of us in the routine of work. A thank you brings beauty in a dull life. Like a rainbow in the sky, an expression of thanks decorates the heart of the giver and the recipient. The way rain quenches the dry earth, gratitude quenches the desires of hearts to feel good. It quenches the thirst of the hearts. Let us all express our heart warming gratitude and make our earth a better place.

The joy of gourmet chocolate

Like a fine wine, gourmet chocolate is the thing to which our palates instantly respond – ruining us forever for the average store-sold candy bar. While it’s true that chocolate of any variety will surely bring joy to the consumer, gourmet chocolate delivers a special treat for the taste buds. But, as would be expected, it can come at a price.

Gourmet chocolate can not be defined but rather must be experienced. What may be considered gourmet to some may be perfectly ordinary to another; in short the term ‘gourmet’ can be more than a bit subjective. But most chocolate enthusiasts agree that gourmet chocolate falls within the boundaries of that chocolate that is prepared with a certain level of care and an eye towards quality.

Such quality includes the highest percentage of cocoa butter. In many cases, a certain amount of cocoa butter is removed from the chocolate and replaced with vegetable fat. This significantly compromises the quality of the chocolate. Truly gourmet chocolate will contain the highest amount of cocoa butter – followed by sugar. Sugar should never be the first ingredient listed on chocolate.

Gourmet chocolate often derives from highly regarded chocolatiers who have built their business on using quality ingredients. Many are family businesses passed down from generation to generation. This is not to say that factories can not produce gourmet chocolate, but it stands to reason that the more personal attention the chocolate making process is given the higher quality the finished product. Many reputable chocolatiers pride themselves on their handmade chocolate and for those who taste it the effort is difficult to argue.

Gourmet chocolate runs the price range from astronomical to quite manageable. Regardless of your budget, with a little research – and a lot of tasting – you can find a delectable gourmet chocolate that’s just right for you.
